Saddle club championship rules as follows;

1.each club can send only one rider per class.
2.the horse/rider combo must be the same all year. No substitutions of horse to rider or rider to horse
3.Midwest rules apply/ judge’s decision is final
a.Nrha rules apply to reining class
b.Rusty gaits bylaws apply (jr’s must wear helmets)
4.entry fee of $5.00 per class/per combo, paid by competitor day of show

$5.00 per class each division

September 19 RGSC show – please bring canned goods/non-perishables to the next show. 2 items for each Jr A & Jr. B entry in lieu of entry money and 3 for all others for every class you enter. All items collected will go to the Aylmer Caring Cupboard Food Bank. This has been a tradition for many years and there definitely is a need for it.

This show will run with the following format, due to ring problems for the games people at the last show:

9:30 a.m. Performance to start in Ring 2
& Games classes in order fromthe August 22 show in Ring 1
followed by Games classes for Sept. 19 show in Ring 1

This means 2 runs for the Games people.

For sale – Circle Yshow saddle-used a few times, in excellent condition, light colour with matching bridle, breast collar and quilted saddle bag, 16 inch seat, quarter horse bars~beautiful saddle and very comfortable-$1200.00 OBO.

Youth English saddle – fit med pony or horse in good condition, full knee rolls and 12 inch seat ~ $125.00.

Yearling gelding by KCS SONNYS PEPPY AQHA and out of DARBYS CAPPACHINO, Breeding Stock Paint mare by SONNYS COURTNEY – should finish about 15.1 hh and a tank right now; great to work with, utd on everything(no papers)bay and very pretty boy.great mover and very athletic-would excel in anything. $800.00 OBO.

WHERESBEARSCOLOUR – registered Breeding Stock Paint/TB; 11 years old, originally broke western and english – has had several foals with this year’s foal being by AQHA stallion THE LAST MIGHTY TINK – this filly this year is half the size of the mum at 3 months old and is going to be huge, very pretty and showing Paint markings at this time. Mare is 16 hh, an easy keeper, is very pretty and a liver chesnut ~ asking $1500.00 for the mare and $1500.00 for the filly. The mare has also been bred to several paint stallions in the past and has thrown gorgeous paint babies.

The Ontario Paint Horse Club is excited to offer our youth a fabulous savings, buy one judge get the other free . Office fees and APHA fees will be charged but all youth classes under the second judge will be free. Leadline and Walk jog are free under all judges and the same horse does not need to be used at all shows…. Come join the OPHC and reap the benefits. You don’t need to own your horse to take advantage of the savings. As a youth you do not have to own the horse to show in Ontario but you would if you wish to accumulate APHA points.

Our sincerest condolences to Lynn Johnston on the passing of her husband Allan. Also to Lynne Breddy on the passing of Blair in January and to the family of Elgin Wells, from whom the Broken Wheel Trail Riders rent their trail camp site. I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone.

• April 24 – Ring Clean-up at the Aylmer Fairgrounds, 10 a.m. sharp – both user groups should plan to help out with this very necessary but sometimes fun outing.
• May ? - Walk-a-thon Fundraiser
• May 1 – Elgin Feeds Equine Workshop, Aylmer Fairgrounds 10:00 to ? Check out the their web site www.elginfeeds.com. Orwell Community Trail Riders to work the food booth
• May 8 – Rusty Gaits Spring Fling trail ride with the Shoup Family – Vienna Line
• May 16 – 1^st Rusty Gaits horse show – start time is 9:30 a.m. SHARP! The class list is being revised but a finished copy will be available well before the first show at our website www.rustygaits.ca Diane Anderson will run the food booth.
• June and July – events for fundraisers for www.serentityhousehospice.ca in St. Thomas. A day in June at Pinecroft and a bus trip to Sarnia in July. Check them out! This is a service we all may need at some point in time – you just never know about some things in life! They also have an excellent resource library dealing with many issues.
• August 13-15 – Aylmer Fair Horse Shows – Friday – Junior Horse & Pony Show (Club Challenge), Saturday – MWHS-approved show (you don’t have to be a member of MWHS to show), Sunday – OBRA/NBHA approved Speed Show. If you wish to make a donation to off-set the costs of these shows, just contact me!
• September 17-19 – Trail-a-Thon in support of the Dundas Valley Conservation area. For more info, send them an e-mail to nature@conservationhamilton.ca with 2010 Equestrian Ride in the subject line. Their website is www.conservationhamilton.ca. If you have never had the opportunity to ride in this beautiful area, make an effort to check it out! Walkers and strollers with and without dogs and children, joggers, cyclists and horse people all co-exist on the same trails by showing mutual respect and friendliness.
• October 2 – Fall Trail Ride, Murray and Donna McEown, Eden Line, just west of Culloden Road., north of Hwy. #3.
• November 20 – Annual Awards Banquet and Celebration, Aylmer Legion – details to follow.

Nice flattish, and well-groomed interesting trail for all ages of horses and riders!

Liability form must be signed by ALL riders!

Trail ride – $5.00 for RGSC members, other to purchase a $5.00 day pass as well

Potluck – $5.00 + a dish to feed a bunch

Welcome to the site of the Rusty Gaits Saddle Club. We are a very strong club with over 75 active family and single memberships. Our shows are geared primarily toward the western genre, but with some English classes for added interest & learning experiences. We also host clinics, trail rides (both organized and impromptu) and an assortment of interesting events.
